The AVA Securities Trading Competition is an initiative by AVA Securities Limited, the Securities Trading arm of the AVA Capital Group. This University competition is designed to provide practical trading experience and identify top-performing students across prestigious Nigerian universities.
This competition will focus on selected stocks, which will form 100% of the students’ portfolios, ensuring a structured and strategic approach to trading and will span for five (5) months.
Unlike traditional investment competitions that rely on simulations or demo accounts, this one-of-a-kind competition empowers selected student teams with ₦5 million in real capital to trade live on the AVA Securities trading platform. This competition aims to foster financial literacy, strategic thinking, and risk management skills among students, offering them a platform to showcase their trading prowess and compete for top honors and prizes
Applications for the fourth edition will go live this January, and the competition will commence in April 2026. The program as designed will feature media coverage, mentorship, leadership exposure, and rewards such as internship opportunities, job offers, and a share of the trading profits.
The AVA Securities Trading Competition is open to 200–500 level students in all disciplines from accredited Nigerian universities

Application Process
To apply, teams must designate one representative to complete the application form on behalf of the team and follow these steps:
- Create a Video: Record a video no longer than 90 seconds introducing each team member and answering the following questions:

– What is your rationale for these selections and allocations?
